About H&W

H&W started out as a small Brokerage office out of Cardington, OH.  In 1987 Floyd Beckman purchased the operating authority and made the transition from the timber and railroad tie business into the trucking industry. H&W was officially re-opened in the back office of the Buckeye Lake Truck Stop, only 5 miles from where our office is located today.

In 1994 Floyd’s son, Bart Beckman, had visions of again expanding the services of H&W. It was at that time that H&W started transitioning into an asset based trucking company called H&W Contract Carriers, Inc. With firsthand experience in years of over the road trucking Bart wanted to provide more services to customers while meeting the demands of an ever changing industry. Since then Bart has grown H&W Contract Carriers, Inc. into a choice Carrier for shippers, manufactures, and brokers.

Starting in 2000 H&W Contract Carriers, Inc needed it own premises to combat the growing success of the company. With 9 acres of land in hand; Bart oversaw the construction of a 6700 sq ft office that included three offices to house the Van, Refrigerated, and Brokerage divisions. The premises also included a switch dock to help provide cross docking and load consolidation. 10 years later a 6500 sq ft shop was built on the premises to assist in better control and maintenance for our fleet of dry van and refrigerated trailers and also to help our Owner/Operators out with service work at discounted rates.

While H&W Contract Carriers still offers the same services out of our main building today, the company has added multiple satellite offices offering refrigerated and dry van truckload services as well as brokerage. With the in demand combination of an asset based Carrier along with full brokerage authority we are the complete package manufactures are looking for.
